the design: previous layouts

Version 1 (January 2008): I don't know what I was thinking when I made this, except I wanted something to represent many fandoms, which explains the many celebs. At the same time, I also aimed for funny, simple and "collage-y" along with "art-y", there of the pens. I failed spectacularly, and the picture is very cramped. (I hadn't yet grasped the saying "little/simple is best...")

Version 2 (February 2008): For this, I wanted colorful - clear pinks (it was around Valentine...), and other than that, just a simple blend as the Header. The Head-picture wasn't ugly, but the comoposition of the layout around it was kind of boring, it was too much pink, and too many hover effects. All in all, it looked pretty cheap.

Version 3 (Spring 2008): This is a favourite - I wanted something special, different from the usual sites you find on the net, while still simple, stylish and easy to navigate. I really liked the blue colours, the Header, as well as the affiliate buttons. I kept this forthe longest of all my layouts, but the blue became a bit much after a while, and the width made it difficult to appreciate on a smaller screen.

Version 4 (Summer 2008): Featuring Kristen Stewart, due to my growing Twilight obsession. This was the first layout with "teaser-thumbnails," and I really liked the colour and the composition of just two columns. But, if version 3's problem was too much width, version 4's was too little. The two columns beside each other meant I couldn't fit in as much content, and forced visitors to scroll...a lot.

Version 5 (August-September 2008): The Twilight obsession continued. I went back to the blue tones, but a little darker, more comfortable for the eye. Again, I changed the composition completely: Just a Header, followed by the content area below, too fit more stuff in, and to make it easier to browse, not to mention update, due to the "portfolio" layout with a new column square for every picture which made it possible to add descriptions below. Though I liked the new simplicity and composition, I tired of the Header quickly, so it didn't last that long.

Version 6: (Autumn-Winter 2008): I found a brilliant Twilight Poster which I based the Header on instead of my usual wallpaper-based layouts with blending and textures - and I think that was a success. I usually don't like making dark layouts, but it turned out so well I couldn't manage to be bothered by it...and it was autumn :D I really loved it, and the "bottom" column of the site complemented the Header really well.

Version 7: (January-February 2009): The one year anniversary. In honour of the coming spring, I chose chreen, which also is the color of rebirth and growth. I wanted it to symbolize how the site and my art has changed developed through 2008. And as a "back to basics" kind of thing, to acknowledge where I began, I chose Sarah Michelle Gellar as the actress on the Header, since she was also in my very first layout.

Version 8: (February - September 2009): A complete remake of the coding for this version, featuring the lovely Kristen Bell. For the first time, I worked with DIV-layers and an extern CSS-sheet, rather than tables and integrated CSS. It was a lot easier to get things the way I wanted it, and I am really pleased with the end result. The thumbnails are smaller, the design cleaner, and overall, I think this is among my top three favourite layouts!

Current: (September - ? 2009): I kept the basic layout style from version 8 in this version, but with different colors - I also cleaned up my coding, and changed everything from (X)HTML to PHP. Pheew! It should be a lot easier for me to update/change layouts now! :D I really like the header with Summer Glau, and while I was a bit uncertain about the colors at first, they're growing on me.
